This deployment option brings the fibre optic network to the building and then all the way to each individual office or apartment. Alternatively, the in-building network could be a lower cost network technology, such as Cat6. This approach is best suited for medium or large apartment blocks and office buildings. In most cases it will be more cost efficient to install fibre to the building and then Cat6 (or possibly Cat5e) throughout the building.

Fiwave offers a Point to Point Ethernet solution for Fibre-to-the-building delivering 1 Gb/s of bandwidth and upgradable to 10s of Gigabits per second. The solution utilises standard off-the-shelf components from established equipment vendors. The solution provides 1 Gb/s of symmetric bandwidth to the building and standard access network functionality such as QoS, user identification by physical port and multiple services per port. The solution consists of:

• Provision of services over the local in-building infrastructure
• Customer premises equipment (CPE) located in the apartment or office (optional)
• Equipment in the building for fibre termination
• Networking equipment(inc. service provider metro ethernet switch)
• Cables, splices, ODFs, patch cords, and other passive equipment and materials

As part of our FTTP solution we would typically design and build the TV, data and voice services that run on the network.
