Rupert Graves
Managing Director
A broadband network and services specialist Rupert has nine years senior management experience. Well versed in triple-play and IP network business models, Rupert has direct technology, commercial and operational management experience of both advanced broadband enabled services and traditional TV and IPTV services. He specialises in broadband services packaging and marketing as well as content licensing for distribution on IP networks. He has consulted for large operators such as BT, and pioneering FTTH operators such as Magnet Networks. As Managing Director of the UK's first FTTH operator he directed operations through the launch and post-launch phase as well as lead negotiations with broadcasters and content owners and other third party service providers.
A graduate in economics from University College, London, he began his career as an equities broker at the prestigious Robert Fleming bank, before moving into a career in media with advertising agency CDP where he worked on numerous campaigns before leaving to pursue a career in broadcast television.
Boyan Krosnov
Director, Technology
A networks and services engineer with extensive service provider and system integrator experience. Boyan has been the principal engineer in several large system integration projects including networks and services design and build for: Magnet Networks, a triple-play operator in Ireland; Nova, a mobile operator in Iceland and a greenfield FTTH Triple-play operator in the UK. He was also involved in a number of smaller projects and activities including sales, R&D, design, implementation and operation of customer networks. On top of his multi-vendor networks experience, Boyan has had CCIE (#8701) certification since 2002.
Prior to co-founding Fiwave, Boyan worked as an independent consultant working for several service providers and systems integrators, and before that as a Senior Networks Engineer at Lirex BG, a systems integrator in Bulgaria. There he led technical aspects of several networking projects and was also participating in design, implementation and operations for Lirex Net, an ISP. He was also in a lead technical role in the operations of several customer networks, including Bulgarian Academy of Science (BAS) and two broadband service providers. Boyan has been developing software since 1996 and working in systems administration and networking since 1999. He has been responsible for design and maintenance of network services since 2000.
He has participated in International Olympiads of Informatics (IOI,BOI 1997-1999), founded a community internet access scheme for 100 students in Studentski Grad, Sofia, Bulgaria in 1999) and has led university courses on computer networks and network security (2001-2003).
Dan Moon
Director, Operational Services
Dan has significant experience in the design and delivery of optimised business processes to large and small telcoms businesses including Virgin Mobile UK. Recently Dan was responsible for the business process design and entire operations management of UK's first FTTH operator. Dan is an experienced telecom business process and operations consultant with a broad range of analysis and technical design expertise within the MSO space. He has an exceptional ability to grasp complex business issues and understand the related technology implications of these. He works well in either a strategic or tactical project environment and is capable of quickly building trust and respect within a project's business community by delivering results. His skills include: requirements gathering, business analysis, process design, operations and project management.
Dan has also established and managed business units for Walt Disney International and provided technology implementations for Vodafone UK as well as provided various operational improvments to numerous start-up companies. Dan engages with individuals and teams at all levels to make a tangible difference to any organisation.
Dimitar Penkov
Director, Wireless Engineering
Dimitar's primary area of experise is in wireless network technologies. He has designed and implemented wireless links as part of project "Flood Early Warning System" for the Ministry of Emergency Situations; a pilot project for internet connectivity of remote villages; full Wi-Fi coverage of the city of Varna; a wireless network covering most of Sofia for IP CCTV and remote security monitoring. He also has rare experience with Cisco IPICS (IP Interoperability and Collaboration System).
Dimitar has worked as director of IT of Voixnetworks Nigeria and as a Senior Networks Engineer for Bynet Bulgaria, where he has worked with some of the largest telecom companies in the country and participated in design, planning and implementation of networks and services.
Dimitar has also developed systems for management and monitoring based on open source software and open source firmware for embedded devices (linksys, mikrotik, ubiquiti)
Two years ago Dimitar won the "IT project of 2007" award in category Corporate projects with "Implementation of system for IP based monitoring for SEKTRON / SOT 161" and the award "European Association for Security and Safety - EU112" with the Cisco IPICS project.
